Urbex

Urban photography (also known as urbex or UE) is a kind of photography where pictures
are taken in abandoned and deserted buildings, places and sites.

This is a potentially dangerous type of photography, since many of the buildings have
been abandoned (thus left without maintenance) for years. Floors could be non-solid,
not to mention the roofs...

When going on an Urbex-trip, never go alone! Always go with someone else, even
better is to go with 3 people or more. Also, never leave your group to go taking
pictures alone, unless you can stay in contact (e.g. with walkie-talkies).
Make sure that your friend/girlfriend/familiy knows where you are going and with whom.
It's always wise to give them a call every couple of hours to let them know you're ok.

Stuff which you should carry when on a trip are the following:
- Camera with lenses and spare batteries
- Tripod and remote control
- Cellphone (fully charged)
- First aid kit
- Dark clothing and solid shoes (e.g. hiking boots)

This might come in handy as well, even though I've never taken it with me on a trip before:
- Multi-tool
- Flashlight

Last but not least: when exploring, take your time and BE CAREFUL!
It's better to come home without pictures than not coming home at all...
